History
In the mid-1980s Chuck Geenen and Doug DeKock teamed up to form Geenen DeKock Properties and our sister company, GDK Construction. Holland and the surrounding areas were experiencing a growth boom. Manufacturers were creating new jobs and attracting families, while retirees found themselves drawn to Michigan’s stunning west coast.
We quickly earned a reputation as a leading shopping center developer in Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana, including significant retail in Holland and the surrounding communities. During that time, we developed many of the shopping centers, grocery stores, and condominium communities that still serve this area.
Today, Chuck, Doug and the high-quality team they’ve built have a keen knack for looking towards what’s next. They strive to strategically plan and develop facilities to meet our community’s future needs, like expanding retail and residential spaces on 8th Street in Downtown Holland, or our role in Waterfront Holland. Geenen DeKock Properties builds for the future while respecting the past.
